Message from Pastor Owen

Dear Loganville First Family,
As we continue to learn about COVID-19, we know there are other coronaviruses (commonly referred to as viruses according to the CDC) we have encountered in the past. However, COVID-19 appears to be spreading much faster and affecting larger concentrations of people. With this in mind, over the last two weeks your staff and church leadership have been discussing and praying about our response. Even as we have been implementing additional safety practices, we are in agreement with Bishop Sue’s recommendation (https://www.ngumc.org/newsdetail/message-from-bishop-sue-regarding-worship-services-13441842) to NOT assemble for worship in person but move to online worship only, for the remainder of March. This means we will not physically assemble for worship on March 15, 22 and 29 but will have a Facebook Live stream (https://www.facebook.com/Loganvillefumc.org/) of our service at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday. We are looking at an alternative streaming service for those without Facebook and will update you later.
So until further notice, Sunday and Wednesday activities that involve large groups will be asked NOT to meet during the remainder of March. If this should change, we will update you as soon as possible. Our church staff and leadership are working on the best ways for us to stay in communication with you, provide congregational care and be an encouragement as the body of Christ. In addition to phone calls and electronic communication, I am grateful for the response of our church members to assist in any way that would be helpful. We have volunteers lined up to deliver groceries and make visits on “Your Front Porch”. Our hope is to rise to the challenge in our response to this COVID-19 concern in a way that God continues to let us sing “Bind Us Together” in Spirit!
As our great Physician, may God bless each of you and your Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health.

In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Owen Skinner
